Department of Botany
The Department of Botany started functioning in the year 1964. Now the Department has five faculty members and three laboratory assistants. The University permits the Department to admit thirty students for Degree Course. Along with the course of the study, the students are given Basic Computer Training, Techniques in Tissue Culture, Methods of Vermi Composting, Tips for Mushroom Cultivation and general awareness of local medicinal plants and their uses

  • Two spacious laboratories with Microtome, Distillation unit,     Spectrophotometer, Ultracentrifuge, hot Air Oven etc.
  • Museum and Herbarium collection of more than 200 plants of special taxonomical interest
  • A full fledged Departmental library with around 1000 reference books
  • Training for  Mushroom Cultivation
  • Tissue culture Basics Training
  • Two Medicinal Gardens with plants used as Ayurvedic medicines
    •  Rare collection of  200 plants (Herbs & Shrubs)
    • Collection of  150 Trees
