Department of Botany

The Botany department began functioning in the college right from the founding of the college in the year 1964 and offered U G course from 1980 onwards. This department maintains an excellent record of accomplishment, securing more than 25 university ranks for the last two decades. The activities of the Department aim to inspire and equip the students with the modern scientific challenges.

The members of the faculty are highly qualified, have specialization in different fields, and conducted various projects funded by different funding agencies at national/state level. The department has well furnished and well equipped laboratories and well maintained Botanical Garden and Medicinal plant garden.
