The Department of Zoology started functioning in 1964 with classes for the erstwhile pre-degree biology students. The B.Sc. Zoology course started in 1967.
The three-year regular degree in Commerce (B Com) was started at Nirmalagiri College in 2013.
The department of physical Education started functioning on 1964. The college, over since the commencement of the department paid much attention in the systematic development of the physical potential of the students in various facets like athletics, games, body building etc.
A pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the state or an Examination accepted by the University as equivalent thereto provided that the candidates coming from Non-Commerce group should have at least 45% of the aggregate marks.
