Tourism Club

The Tourism Club of Nirmalagiri College, is committed to cultivating awareness and a sense of responsibility towards our country's natural and cultural heritage among the youth of Nirmalagiri. Understanding the significance of tourism in preserving and promoting our rich treasures, the club recently collaborated with the Kerala State Tourism Club to amplify their efforts.

With the active participation of passionate members like Sr. Sujamol Joseph (Convener), Mr.Deepu Joseph and Mr. Manu K.M, the team strives to instill a deep appreciation for our nation's heritage and the importance of sustainable Tourism practices. Through a range of initiatives, the club creates opportunities for the youth to engage with and explore the wonders of their surroundings. They organize educational programs, experiential activities, and interactive workshops to ignite curiosity and foster a sense of stewardship among the students.

The collaboration with the Kerala State Tourism Club has further enhanced the club's reach and impact. By partnering with a renowned organization, they gain access to valuable resources, expertise, and networking opportunities. Together, they work towards raising awareness about responsible tourism, highlighting the need for conservation, and encouraging the youth to actively contribute to the preservation of our natural and cultural heritage.

Bhoomithrasena Club

Bhoomitra Sena Club (BMC) of the Nirmalagiri College (Reg No. DoECC/E2/BMC/2407/12) is registered under the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change (DoECC) in 2017. BMC enables students to reinforce their environmental obligations by conducting various programs.

Objectives of the Club

  • To encourage the students to appreciate the environment and environmental issues of the locality
  • To provide environmental education opportunities for students and involve them in addressing environmental issues of the locality
  • To enable students as conduits for environmental awareness of the society
  • To make students practice and advocate sustainable lifestyles
  • To improve the overall environmental quality of the institution

Electoral Literacy Club

An Electoral Literacy Club is a platform to engage students through interesting activities and hands-on experience to sensitise them on their electoral rights and familiarise them with the electoral process of registration and voting. Nirmalagiri College has formed Electoral Literacy club on January 25, 2020 as part of celebrating National Voters day.

Objectives of the Club

  • To educate the targeted populations about voter registration, the electoral process, and related matters through hands-on experience
  • To facilitate EVM and VVPAT familiarization and education about the robustness of EVM as well as the integrity of the electoral process using EVMs
  • To help the target audience understand the value of their vote and exercise their suffrage right in a confident, comfortable and ethical manner

  • Every year College Union Elections are conducted under the guidance of Electoral literacy club. The process of elections are at par with Original election conducted by Election Commission of India . The Election Process Gives an awareness among students regarding the democratic process and its importance
  • Conducted Seminar at Nirmalagiri College regarding Importance of voting in a democratic country . The seminar was conducted by Dr Sudheesh Associate professor Political Science Payyannur College. The programme was Coordinated by Department of Political science and Electoral literacy club
  • Students of Nirmalagiri under the guidance Department of Physics and Electoral literacy club has made a prototype of Electronic Voting Machine. The working of EVM has been explained to College students, Nearby School Students and for the youth of Peruva Colony (Adopted village)
  • An online portal for registration of new voters has been incorporated in college Website
  • Electoral literacy club has conducted an awareness class for students and youth of Peruva colony. Classes were taken by the students of Nirmalagiri College
  • Electoral literacy club has conducted a Survey to study about the awareness among youth regarding elections. Survey Was coordinated by Department of Economics Nirmalagiri College
  • Electoral literacy club Has conducted a debate on the topic “ONE INDIA ONE ELECTION”

Quiz Club

The Quiz club of Nirmalagiri College aims at identifying students with quizzing talent and creating opportunities for them to sharpen their quizzing skills . Quiz Club is a unique and exciting way to motivate, inspire, encourage and reward children in their quest for knowledge and provide them with the opportunity to celebrate their achievements as part of a high profile, national competition. The main objective of quiz club is to popularize quizzing activities among students and to encourage them to take part in all competitive examination at state and central level. The college has a regular track record on conducting various inter-departmental, inter collegiate and state level quiz competitions. During covid pandemic we have conducted biweekly online quizzes (Think Bot) by using google meet.

Literary Club

The English Literary Club has been conceived at the college level for the love of the language exhibited by all teachers and students. It is a club made for people who love literature and want to share their experiences, readings and thoughts with others who have the same interest and talent.

The Club functions with the following objectives:
  • To inculcate among students a flair for the language and enhance their literary skills
  • To induce reading habits in students
  • To encourage students to become orators and display their intellectual, independent
  • thinking skills and imbibe a sense of confidence
  • To improve and encourage creative writing.

Debate Club

The debate club of the Nirmalagiri College stretches students of all abilities to develop their oracy skills, whose main motive is to promote radical thinking and intellectualism. Different activities of the club benefit students with their critical thinking and confident communication. Students learn to create factual, logical, ethical, and emotional arguments to persuade their confidence and analytical skills.

Eco Club

Eco Club of the Nirmalagiri College is a unique platform to encourage our students to improve their knowledge about the environment and to manage the crisis whenever it is arising. It motivates the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking the plantation of trees, conservation of water by optimizing the use of water and minimizing the usage of plastics.
